With the entry of 2014, InSinkErator, the world's largest manufacturer of food waste disposers and instant hot water dispensers for home and commercial use, has expressed plans to reinforce its market survey presence across the region’s rapidly growing maritime industry. The company is looking towards achieving this objective by leveraging its diverse portfolio of food waste disposers across various types of shipping vessels—ranging from cargo vessels to luxury cruise ships. In line with this, InSinkErator has revealed survey the successful installation of its large capacity foodservice survey disposer model, SS-300, on board the MV Xuě Lóng, a Chinese ice breaking research vessel. The newly installed SS-300 is expected to help the MV Xuě Lóng comply with recent guidelines on proper food waste disposal released by Stiftelsen Det Norske Veritas (DNV), a Norwegian classification society organized as a foundation with the objective of 'Safeguarding life, property, and the environment.'
The recent DNV guideline stipulates that all discharges of waste into the sea are highly survey prohibited—including cooking oil and all plastics, even in the form of incinerator ash. To help ensure compliance, the SS-300 facilitates the processing and disposal of all food wastes to improve ship hygiene and cleanness in line with the vessel’s environmental responsibility. The unit, which is mounted on a ¾” rubber mounting, offers a corrosion resistant stainless steel grind chamber survey that is powered by a three horse powered induction motor. The SS-300 features stationary and rotating shredding elements made from cast nickel chrome alloy for long life and corrosion resistance and also designed for reverse action grinding. A triple lip seal protects motor from water damage while a secondary spring-loaded oil seal provides double protection against water and loss of grease. survey The unit is stainless steel and chrome plated and has been kept paint-free for lasting survey sanitation.
According to InSinkErator survey senior executives, the company has now set its sights on servicing the maritime industry, particularly vessels survey in the region’s rapidly growing cruise ship segment. The focus towards the tourism cruise ship industry complements recent industry reports saying that Dubai’s cruise segment is poised for more growth in 2014. In fact, the emirate’s cruise segment already plays host to over 94 nationalities from around the globe.
