YIMBY has just submitted an opinion on the depth plan for Mölndalsåns valley. The opinion is a result of discussions on the forum. The plan is a collaboration between Gothenburg and Mölndal and it tries to take a holistic approach to Mölndalsåns valley. There are good intentions but also many things that could be done much better. You can support our opinion using the form on the City Planning Office website or by mailing sbk@sbk.goteborg.se. For those who want to familiarize themselves more with the northern part of the planning area, so here are the report baanpolball from our city walk around Mölndalsvägen. baanpolball Opinion follows in its entirety. Summary maps in the final attachment is attached is part of the submitted opinion. Other pictures are attached to this post:
YIMBY Gothenburg is very positive to a densification in Mölndalsåns valley and the area now having an updated in-depth overview plan. Cooperation between Gothenburg and Mölndal municipalities is necessary to pass through the ravine to tie together both the two cities and also the valley both sides in a better way. Plan proposal includes many good intentions and many of the overarching approaches are reasonable. We also note that the plan contains many beautiful words that are just agree with that, but it's also not much that is concrete or binding and the plan does not differ much from previous plans in the area. Greater clarity would be desirable. There are also things in the plan that could be improved, which we present in the following.
It is gratifying to plan for Gothenburg majority embraced among urban way of thinking, but at the same time seems Mölndal remain in the old footsteps. Mölndal still distinguishes between activity and neighborhoods, and it is only in the so-called "inner city" and the Fors Field area as Mölndal advocates mixed development. Also center way of thinking persists and live string is not yet Mölndals line. It is important to Mölndals part becomes more consistent with the Gothenburg part in mixed city way of thinking about the link between municipalities can be strengthened in a sustainable baanpolball manner.
The plan states that "Along the main streets should ground floors accommodate retail, service, cultural or other activities to turn to the street. Buildings along the main streets should be in property line to the street. Alternatively, the block of land between the property line and the building should be accessible baanpolball to the public." This should not only apply to the main streets, but the starting point for all streets in the area. Also premises in B, C and even D modes are important for inter city. Not least to create life and security.
It is written much about urbanity and to encourage pedestrians and cyclists. Still satisfied with the plan to treat the major streets and begin to prioritize railway, highway and streets baanpolball to car traffic. The plan still has a large-scale bilorienterat perspective is clear, for example, on page 10: Proposed land use Mölndal: "The infrastructure developed mainly through the expansion of the railway, with improved interchanges on the highway and through an expanded public transport." Pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure is first mentioned in the page's last paragraph.
We would have preferred that the order reversed by starting with the planning of a fine street network for pedestrians (developed through baanpolball a systematic analysis eg with space syntax analyzes). First would be an ideal street system could be developed to then approach the practical road network based within the existing structure might look also for cycling, public transport and car traffic.
In this area, the north-south streets greatest potential for urban life. The plan refers only Mölndalsvägen baanpolball / Göteborgsvägen and the main strip on the east side of the valley. There are more north-south streets and even more necessary. The greatest scope for intimate urban streets with buildings and businesses on both sides are on the smaller streets as needed to keep the road network dense. On page 6 states that "Lokalgators sidewalks and bike lanes widened and improved." It is doubtful that the local roads in the city will have to have separate bike path.
Plans for new connections baanpolball across the transport corridor is good. The risk of long pedestrian and bicycle bridges become unsafe and repetitious can be reduced if they are performed for mixed traffic, where it works. They could also be broadened to serve as ecoducts in appropriate places. The area where the highway crosses the railroad at Lackarebäcksmotet is strategically passages over transportation corridor because this is narrowest.
South of Mölndal bro there is no link across the E6 to traffic until at Peppa Reds junction baanpolball just north of Kallered. Rävekärr is today an isolated enclave. A bridge against Åbro would reduce isolation. GC bridge between Krokslätt and Flöjelbergsgatan makes a Bob;
