Hello, I am writing regarding zoning 800 new homes in Selma Lagerlof's court (Detailed plan for the area by Selma Lagerlof's Square, Stage 1, SBK Records Number: BN0701/10). I agree YIMBY Gothenburg opinion.
The plan embodies the program's intentions about Litteraturgatan as the central streets in the area of car, bike and public transport. The plan shows that the today bilcentrerade craiglist freeway will be transformed craiglist into a city street. We think that basically is very positive. Paradoxically, however, suggested the same plane a significant element of townhouses instead of urban development along the street committee. It's absolutely devastating to the ability of the street to reach the urban-like qualities and does not create a sufficiently attractive urban spaces for cyclists and public transport. We think Litteraturgatan instead should flanked with real urban, ie apartment buildings with rooms that open up the property to the street. Gladly accepted into closed city blocks.
Although Litteraturgatan is a natural transit route, we think it is unfortunate that it has made the narrow interpretation that Litteraturgatan in practice will be the only route through the area. For traffic presents no alternative roads at all. Instead, it seems most of the area proposed to be some kind of car-free center square taken from the over 70 years old and completely obsolete ABC city, or possibly some kind of car-free island from the equally obsolete bilplaneringsparadigmet SCAFT. We believe that all forms of transport to get fit on the streets also inside the area.
Furthermore, it appears the street network within the pedestrian center-island rather aim to explore new creative spaces are yet to provide efficient and safe ways for pedestrians. The buildings subsumed in fact, in a structure that appears to seek to dissuade any notion of passersby to look into the area. For example, one can note how the diagonal corridor past the D cut off from its natural extension in between A and B, one of many examples.
