In studying science or lexicography lexicography, one important thing to note is that the object or substance concentration in this field, namely dictionary. As an introduction, let's look at the dictionary definition or definitions from several sources. cbss Kamus Dewan Fourth Edition (2005) gives the meaning of the dictionary as "reference book containing the words of a language are usually arranged alphabetically, given meaning cbss and other information with respect to the word", while according to the Oxford Dictionary Bahasa Inggeris, dictionary is "a or electronic resource book that lists the words of a language (typically in alphabetical order) and gives their meaning, or gives the equivalent cbss words in a different language, often also providing information about pronunciation, origin, and usage ".

There is also a dictionary that use more than two languages are known as multi-lingual cbss or multilingual dictionaries. Dictionary that fall into this category include the Dictionary of Three Languages Federal: Bahasa Malaysia, Chinese, English (Bahasa Melayu Chinese - English) and the Thai-Malay, Bahasa Inggeris Dictionary (Thai - Malay - English).
